About
Valley Tobacco in Fortitude Valley, Queensland, is your typical local tobacconist with a bit of character thrown in. They’ve got a pretty decent range of products, from your everyday cigarettes to rolling papers, and we’ve heard they stock a nice selection of cigars too. If you’re after something specific, chances are they’ll have it tucked away somewhere.
The service here can be a bit hit and miss, truth be told. While plenty of visitors rave about the friendly staff (especially mentioning someone named Bunny who goes above and beyond), others reckon they’ve caught the team on an off day. Most of the time though, you’ll find the staff helpful enough and willing to answer your questions about their products.
When it comes to prices, well, that’s where things get interesting. Some regulars swear they’ve found better deals here than anywhere else – like one bloke who saved a couple of bucks on his Riverstone. But others reckon they’ve been stung with prices that seem a bit steep. Might be worth checking around if you’re watching your pennies.
They’re open pretty much all week, with some seriously late hours on weekends – staying open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, which is handy for night owls. They kick off at 8am most weekdays and 9am on weekends. Just keep in mind that a few people have mentioned the actual opening hours can be a bit different from what’s advertised, so maybe don’t cut it too fine if you’re making a special trip.
The shop accepts all the usual payment methods – EFTPOS, cards, and cash. And while they might not be the fanciest tobacconist in Brisbane, they get the job done. Oh, and if you’re feeling peckish, word on the street is they’ve even got some decent chips – bit random for a tobacconist, but there you go!
