Bulimba Variety and Tobacco

Bulimba Variety & Tobacco in Queensland has become quite the local fixture since coming under new management. They’ve got a ripper of a selection that’ll sort you right out, with visitors saying they stock pretty much everything you’d expect from a tobacconist and then some. The shop’s got your usual smokes, papers, and lighters, plus a whole bunch of other bits and bobs that might catch your eye.

The staff here are generally a friendly bunch, real characters who’ll have a yarn while helping you find what you need. We’ve heard from quite a few people that the young bloke working there is particularly good value, always making sure customers leave with a smile on their face. Though it’s worth mentioning that some visitors reckon the product knowledge can be a bit hit or miss, especially when it comes to some of the more specialized items.

When it comes to prices, well, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Some regulars reckon they’re paying a touch more than usual, but they’re quick to point out that the quality makes up for it. Others might tell you it’s on the steeper side, so your mileage may vary there.

The shop keeps pretty decent hours, which is handy if you’re someone who needs to pop in outside the usual nine-to-five. They’re open from 8 in the morning until 9 at night Monday through Thursday, staying open till 10 on Fridays and Saturdays. Even on Sundays, they’re there from 8 till 8, which isn’t too shabby at all.

You can pay however you like here – they take cards, EFTPOS, and cash, so no dramas there. The store’s got a solid local following, and while not everyone’s experience has been perfect, most visitors seem to leave pretty happy with their purchase and the service they’ve received. Just the kind of place where you might end up having a decent chat while picking up your smokes.
