Arcade News and Tobacconist

Arcade News & Tobacconist in Victoria Park, Western Australia is your friendly neighborhood smoke shop tucked away in the Park shopping centre. You’ll find all your typical tobacconist essentials here, from cigarettes and rolling papers to lighters, plus they’ve got a decent selection of gift items that might catch your eye while you’re browsing around.

The staff here are generally a cheerful bunch, and most visitors reckon they’re pretty spot on with their service. We’ve heard they’re quite good at having a laugh while helping you find what you need, and they’re particularly knowledgeable about their publications if you’re after some reading material. Sure, like any shop, they might have their off days, but most people who pop in seem to leave pretty happy with how they’ve been treated.

What’s particularly interesting about this place is that it’s become a bit of a lucky charm for some locals. We’ve heard more than a few stories about winning lottery tickets coming from here, which has given the shop a bit of a reputation as a lucky spot. Not that I’m saying you should bet the house on it, but it’s a fun little detail that adds to the shop’s character.

They keep pretty standard business hours, opening their doors at 9 in the morning and wrapping things up at 5:30 PM Monday through Friday, with a slightly earlier close at 5 PM on Saturdays. They take Sundays off completely, so you’ll want to plan ahead if you need anything over the weekend. They accept all the usual payment methods, including EFTPOS, cards, and cash, so you won’t need to worry about making a special trip to the ATM.

Located in the shopping centre, it’s one of those reliable local spots that’s been serving the Victoria Park community for years. The kind of place where you can duck in for your smokes and end up having a friendly chat with the staff about the latest news or what’s happening around town. Just a heads up though, if you’re planning to visit on a Sunday, you’ll need to find an alternative as they’re closed for the day.
