TSG Mulgrave

TSG Mulgrave in VIC is your typical local tobacconist, but with a few nice surprises up its sleeve. The shop’s got a pretty decent range of smoking essentials, and visitors say they’re particularly good with their selection of blunts and rolling papers. You’ll find all your usual suspects here: cigarettes, lighters, and other tobacco accessories.

Price-wise, this place is a bit of a gem. We’ve heard from quite a few regulars that they offer some of the best prices in the area, even beating out the big supermarkets like Coles and Woolies. One bloke mentioned picking up some cheap lighters here, which is always a bonus.

The customer service here seems to be a mixed bag, but mostly on the positive side. Most visitors reckon the staff are pretty friendly and helpful – there’s even a story about how they rang up a customer when their out-of-stock item came in, which is the kind of personal touch you don’t get everywhere. Though fair warning, we’ve heard they sometimes close about 30 minutes earlier than advertised, so might be worth keeping that in mind.

Speaking of hours, they’re open Monday through Wednesday from 9am to 5:30pm, Thursday and Friday they push it out til 7pm, Saturdays they’re there from 9am to 5pm, and Sundays they open a bit later at 10am and close at 4pm. The shop’s in a good spot with plenty of parking available, which is always a winner when you’re just ducking in for a quick purchase.

They take all the usual payment methods – EFTPOS, cards, and cash, so you won’t need to make a special trip to the ATM. It’s not the fanciest shop you’ll ever visit, but it gets the job done, and the competitive prices make it worth checking out if you’re in the area.
