CTC Keilor Downs

CTC Keilor Downs in Victoria is your typical local tobacconist, though experiences there can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on when you pop in. You’ll find all your standard tobacco products here, including cigarettes, rolling papers, and lighters. What’s interesting is they’ve got a decent selection of cigars too – I’ve heard some visitors rave about scoring their first Montecristo #2 here, and apparently the staff know their stuff when it comes to premium smokes.

The shop keeps pretty regular hours through the week, opening at 9 in the morning and closing at 5:30 Monday through Wednesday, with extended hours till 7:30 on Thursday and Friday. They’re open Saturdays from 9 to 5, and if you need to duck in on a Sunday, they’re there from 10 till 4. Though fair warning, we’ve heard from some customers that they sometimes close up shop a bit earlier than advertised, so maybe don’t leave your visit till the last minute.

Customer service seems to be a mixed bag at this place. Some regulars reckon the staff are “good blokes” who really know their stuff and provide great service. Others… well, let’s just say they’ve had different experiences. During the Covid testing kit shortage, there were some interesting stories about how they handled that situation, which left some customers a bit iffy about the place.

For payments, they’re pretty flexible, accepting cash, cards, and EFTPOS like most modern shops. It’s a straightforward sort of place – nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done if you’re in the area and need your tobacco supplies. Just remember to get there with plenty of time before closing if you want to make sure you catch them open.
