Fitzroy Gifts and Smokes

Fitzroy Gifts & Smokes in Fitzroy North, Victoria offers your typical tobacconist fare in a convenient local spot. The shop maintains a decent selection of smoking essentials, including cigarettes, rolling papers, and various lighters. Some visitors reckon the prices are reasonable, though others mention you might find better deals at nearby shops like Piedmonte’s supermarket across the road.

The store keeps pretty generous hours, staying open from 9 in the morning right through to 8pm on weekdays, and even stretching till 10pm Thursday through Sunday. Pretty handy if you’re caught short late in the evening. They take all sorts of payment methods including EFTPOS and cards, though keep in mind there’s apparently a dollar surcharge on card transactions.

When it comes to service, well, it’s a bit of a mixed bag really. Some regulars absolutely love the staff, especially mentioning a particularly helpful lady who works there. They talk about honest, friendly service and how the place is always clean and well-maintained. But fair’s fair, other customers haven’t had such a crash hot time, mentioning issues with opening hours not matching what’s advertised and some frustrating experiences trying to sort out product issues.

The shop itself is pretty straightforward, nothing too fancy but it gets the job done. Most of what you’d expect from a local tobacconist is there on the shelves. Some visitors say the store stays well-stocked, which is always a plus when you’re in need of your regular supplies. Look, it might not be the fanciest smoke shop you’ve ever seen, but it’s there when you need it, and plenty of locals seem to find it convenient enough for their smoking needs.
