About
Semaphore Papershop / Freechoice Semaphore in South Australia is your typical local tobacconist, but with a few extra surprises up its sleeve. The shop’s got a pretty extensive range of stock, and you’ll find all your usual tobacco products, from cigarettes to rolling papers and lighters. What caught my eye was their massive selection of greeting cards – seriously, you could spend ages just browsing through them all. They’ve even got architecture magazines, which isn’t something you see at every corner store.
The place keeps pretty standard business hours, opening at 8:30 in the morning during the week until 5:30 pm, while weekends are a bit shorter – Saturdays they’re open 8:30 to 4, and Sundays they start a bit later at 9 and close at 4. It’s worth noting they take all forms of payment – EFTPOS, cards, and cash, so you’re covered whatever your preference.
Now, about the service… well, it’s a bit of a mixed bag, if I’m being honest. Some visitors reckon they’ve had ripper experiences with friendly staff and good service, while others… not so much. There’s been mention of a bit of a language barrier with some of the staff, which can make things a tad tricky sometimes. We’ve heard that the prices are pretty decent, though not everyone’s mentioned that specifically.
They’ve also got this parcel collection service going, though from what we’ve heard, it might not be their strong suit. Look, it’s one of those places where you might need a bit of patience, but if you’re after tobacco products or want to browse through their impressive card collection, it’s worth checking out. Just maybe don’t count on it for your courier needs, yeah?
