Lams Discount Tobacconist

Lam’s Discount Tobacconist in Nundah, Queensland is one of those local gems that really stands out from the crowd. The kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel welcome, thanks to their consistently fantastic customer service. We’ve heard that the staff are an absolute pleasure to deal with, always going above and beyond what you’d expect these days.

The shop’s got all your typical tobacconist essentials, plus a bit extra that makes it more like your friendly corner store. Visitors say they stock a good range of cigarettes at some of the best prices in the area, and they’ve also got a nice selection of drinks, lollies (including Allen’s), and chocolates at pretty reasonable prices too. While they do stock cigars, just keep in mind those aren’t necessarily at “discount” prices like some of their other offerings.

What really sets this place apart is how they handle their customer service. One regular mentioned they actually answer their phone (bit of a rare thing nowadays!) and are super helpful when you’re trying to track down specific items. The owner, Mr. Lam, has become a bit of a local legend in the Nundah and Northgate community, known for running his shop with real old-school values.

They’re open bright and early from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and if you need to pop in on a Sunday, they’re there from 7am until noon. They’re closed on Saturdays though, so plan ahead. The shop accepts all the usual payment methods including EFTPOS, cards, and cash, making it nice and convenient for everyone.

It’s one of those places that reminds you why supporting local businesses is so worthwhile. Straight up good service, fair prices on most things, and the kind of friendly atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Not just a tobacconist, but a proper neighborhood fixture where you can grab your smokes, maybe some lollies, and have a nice chat while you’re at it.
