Smokemart Alice Springs is your go-to tobacconist in the heart of NT, and let me tell you, they’ve got something special going on with their customer service. The staff here, particularly Michael and Delia (who visitors reckon deserves a raise!), are absolutely lovely and always up for a chat while helping you find what you need. They’re the kind of people who make you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time in.

What’s really caught my eye about this place is their surprisingly decent range of pipe tobacco, which is pretty unique for Alice Springs. From what we’ve heard, you’d be hard-pressed to find another shop in town with such a good selection of pipe products. They’ve also got all your usual tobacconist essentials covered, from cigarettes to rolling papers and lighters. Plus, there’s quite a nice selection of gifts if you’re in the market for something special.

The shop keeps pretty standard hours during the week, opening their doors at 8 in the morning and wrapping up at 6 in the evening. Weekend warriors will need to pop in a bit earlier though, with shorter hours on Saturdays (9am-2pm) and a lazy Sunday schedule starting at 10am. Just make sure to double-check those times before heading in, as we’ve heard from a few visitors who’ve been caught out by outdated online listings.

For your convenience, they accept all the usual payment methods including EFTPOS, cards, and cash. The atmosphere in the store is always welcoming, and that’s not just my opinion. Lots of regular customers keep coming back specifically because of how the staff treats them. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time browsing without feeling rushed, and the team’s always happy to answer any questions you might have about their products.
