About
Tobacco Station Sydney in New South Wales stocks your typical tobacconist fare like cigarettes, rolling papers, and various smoking accessories. Look, I’ve got to be straight with you – we’ve heard from quite a few visitors that the customer service here could use some work. Seems like the staff can be a bit short with customers, sometimes even chatting on their phones while serving, which isn’t exactly what you want when you’re trying to make a purchase.
The shop carries what you’d expect from a standard tobacco shop, though nothing particularly stands out about their selection. They take cash, cards, and EFTPOS for your convenience, so at least you won’t have any drama when it comes time to pay. I popped by recently and noticed one of the clerks was wearing AirPods while serving customers – bit odd that, and probably not the best look for customer service.
Word around town is that the staff can come across as pretty dismissive, sometimes even telling customers to hurry up and leave after making their purchase. Not exactly the warm welcome you might hope for when you’re ducking in for your smokes. Had a mate tell me he went in to buy some ciggies and got knocked back with barely a word of explanation – definitely left a sour taste in his mouth.
If you’re in the area and need tobacco products, maybe keep this one as a backup option. While they stock all the basics you’d need, the less-than-stellar customer service might have you looking elsewhere for your regular tobacco shop. Would be nice to see them turn things around with a bit more focus on making customers feel welcome, rather than like they’re an inconvenience.
